Teacher's TV, part of the Ten Alps Group, is a new government-funded television channel. This startup quickly needed to open an office, accommodating 40 PC users, to ensure that it met deadlines for round-the-clock broadcasting every day of the year.
Sigma's task was to manage the IT infrastructure build-out for Teacher's TV within a compressed time-frame. From initial request to target completion was two weeks.
Sigma first sought to understand Teacher TV's core business process. Based on this investigation, our CTO wrote a project plan addressing client requirements. This gave the client visibility into the project plan and equipment procurement options before project initiation.
Upon client approval, Sigma procured all IT equipment, adhering to client specifications whilst making use of purchasing and leasing options. Sigma's account manager and engineers then worked throughout the week and weekend before Teacher's TV went live the Monday to complete the IT infrastructure build-out.
As a result of Sigma's efforts, the staff of Teacher's TV could successfully fulfil the terms of their government-backed contract, located at new premises, with a complete IT infrastructure delivered on time and on budget. The client's full complement of desktop computers, servers, associated networks, and telecommunications systems, was reliably, securely, and efficiently working when Teacher's TV staff reported for work on their first Monday. Ten Alps, the client's parent company, enjoys substantial cost savings by relying on Sigma Procurement to obtain the most appropriate IT kit. Moreover, they achieved these savings with negligible installation charges, as a fixed-price support contract with Sigma covered most of the build-out. This helps our client manage cash flow at the crucial star-up phase of the business.
